Mrs. Martin: Yeah, I know. [CJ runs in the house and stops when she sees her mother] I'm gonna go upstairs.
Mr. Martin: Wait!
Mrs. Martin: For what?
Mr. Martin: Uh, we never dance anymore!
Mrs. Martin: We don't do a lot of things anymore.

Raise Your Hand Thing!

CJ: The latest list thing is to raise your hand, and now I'm thinking I'll be more like Crispo and keep it down.
Mr. Martin: Well, don't. Raising your hand is like saying "hi" to amazing possibilities, like when I volunteered to tutor chemistry in college and it led to a huge scholarship.
Mrs. Martin: Or when I raised my hand because I didn't understand chemistry in college. My tutor was so sweet and cute that I married him. [they look at each other lovingly]
CJ: Okay, can we get back to me, please?
Mr. Martin: The point is, sweetie, life is nothing but a bunch of questions and challenges.
Mrs. Martin: So always raise your hand, or you won't know the answers.
